Most days, we wake up and have a daily agenda. Whether that is going to work, hanging out with a friend or family member, or simply staying home and lounging around the house, it is important that as soon as we open our eyes, we know just how our day is going to look. However, there are those days in which there is no plan created, and so the boredom begins to sink in. Here are three things to do if you find yourself eager to entertain the day, and not get lost in the cycle of boredom.
Take a walk
There is nothing better than to walk outside of your home and breathe in the fresh air. By taking a walk, you are not only allowing yourself to intake fresh amounts of oxygen, but you are also exposing yourself to the common society. In addition, going on a walk, particularly for extensive periods of time, can help the clock seem like it is ticking faster. So, put on your best walking shoes, and take a step outside!
Meditate
While taking a walk might sound like a great idea, you may find yourself bored, but not wanting to leave the comfort of your home. In this case, there is the option to meditate. Perks of meditation include, but are not limited to: increasing the dopamine levels in your brain, creating a sense of connectedness between your body and your soul, and allowing the silence of the room to present itself to you. Some people prefer to meditate along with the sound of music, which can also be beneficial. Whichever way you prefer to meditate, this is a valuable option.
Write down 2 things you are thankful for
This option to decrease boredom may be one that is not commonly heard of. That is because usually when we think about ways to involve ourselves in something, we assume it to be something physical or spiritual. However, by writing down at least two things that you are thankful for, you are not only taking up a portion of time, but you are processing and evaluating the things or people in your life that have meaning to you. As such, this is a win-win option in not only preventing boredom, but it also allows for us to remind ourselves why it is important to be thankful.
When it comes to finding things to do so that you do not find yourself dwelling in the mask of being bored, there are so many different things that you can do. However, if you choose to focus on one of the three options listed, then you will not only be able to avoid the concept of time, but you will also be doing something productive that can cause you to feel like you are doing something good for the day.
