With Father’s Day fast approaching, it’s time to start gathering ideas on what to get your favorite dad to celebrate. If the father in your life loves fishing, there’s a boatload of practical gear you can wrap up for him this season.
1- New Tackle Box
There’s nothing trickier than trying to pack all your fishing gear and find the perfect watering hole without a practical tackle box. Consider Dad’s fishing routine. What does he take to the shore or on the boat with him? Find a tackle box that fits his lures and other fishing supplies so that he can haul everything in one box or bag.
2- Fishing Net
Dad might need a little help reeling in a big one. Take a look online to find him a new fishing net to make a big catch a little easier. You can find nets of all shapes and sizes depending on what your special father is casting out for.
3- Lures and Supplies
You can never have enough fishing lures and tackle, right? Spend some time browsing through new lures and other supplies Dad might need to have the perfect fishing outing. In addition to lures, you might buy some weights, bobbers, or new fishing lines. Dad may also need new tools to stock in his box.
4- New Rod and Reel
Most anglers would love a shiny new rod and reel. If Dad has been eying a new fishing reel, get it for him to show you’ve been paying attention. Be sure you know what type of reel your dad prefers and get a rod that is sturdy enough for the type of fishing he does.
5- Gift Cards
If your dad is picky about his fishing gear, it may be a better idea to get him a gift card and let him choose his own gifts. Purchase a gift card from a retailer that has a wide range of fishing products so Dad has plenty to choose from. A gift card is great for letting Dad pick out a few small items or to go toward the purchase of a big ticket item he’s been thinking about for a while now.
6- Mounting Service
Anglers love to show off their prized catches. If your father is known to reel in big fish, perhaps a gift certificate for mounting service would suit him well. You may not be able to nail down the exact cost of the service without knowing what type and size of fish Dad wants to be mounted, but you could make an estimated payment and cover the rest later if needed. Or, you may present Dad with a handmade certificate pledging to pay the cost if he catches a near-record fish this fishing season.
If the father you’re celebrating this Father’s Day is an avid angler, consider one of these fun gifts to make his summer a little better. After all, nothing says Happy Father’s Day more than a well-thought-out gift for a hobby he loves.
