INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – (July 12, 2024) – It’s not every day that a basketball team gets a chance to compete to win $1 million, but that’s what the team Fail Harder will do in its debut at the 11th annual TBT 2024, and Arrive AI is sponsoring the team’s quest.
The winner-take-all summer basketball tournament starts with a round of 64 teams that play in eight cities: Cincinnati, Dayton, Houston, Indianapolis, Lexington, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Wichita. The $1 million championship game will be on Aug. 4 at the Daskalakis Athletic Center in Philadelphia.
The first game in the Indianapolis bracket tips off at 1 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Butler University’s Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Fail Harder team (No. 7 seed) plays All Good Dawgs (No. 2 seed) at 6 p.m. The game will be televised live on FS2.
Games will continue at Hinkle through July 23. More than 600 players will take part in the tournament. Indiana teams include alumni players from Butler, Indiana, Purdue, and Valparaiso universities.
“This is a great tournament that people love to be a part of each year,” said Arrive AI CEO Dan O’Toole. “As a startup that embraces failure as a way to succeed, we love this team. I’d always rather take the risk and fail rather than never know what would have been.”
The tournament has attracted involvement from Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Paul, Marc D’Amelio, Floyd “Money” Mayweather and other prominent athletes.
“We’re happy to find local support from the Arrive AI team, and like Dan, we see a lot of similarities in our approach: we’re nimble and are always pushing boundaries,” said Kyle Guy, majority owner and general manager of the Fail Harder team.
