Breaking Celebrity News: Secret Rock Star Wedding Revealed

As just released moments ago on People.com HERE, we are excited to share with you the breaking news that one of the best-kept celebrity secrets in romance is out of the bag. Exactly one year ago, on January 11, 2021, lead guitarist for the multi-platinum Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) Michael Clifford wed the love of his life Crystal Leigh. The couple originally planned to wed on this date last year in Bali, celebrating the exact date and place of both their first kiss, followed three years later with their engagement that made worldwide headlines in 2019. However, due to COVID, they ultimately decided to postpone their official wedding ceremony to a future date. To preserve this sentimental date, Michael and Crystal got creative and decided to officialize their union by signing their wedding papers in an intimate backyard celebration at their home in the company of their 15 person wedding party that included his bandmates. The lovebird’s full wedding ceremony will follow once it becomes safe again to travel.

The two wanted this day to be extra special despite the setbacks, so with the expertise of wedding planner extraordinaire Laura Armendariz from Fawn Events, this intimate wedding paper signing celebration indeed became a fairy-tale experience. With safety top of mind, all guests were required to PCR test and quarantine for seven days leading up to the evening. Upon arrival, the doctor administered rapid COVID tests were provided before guests entered.

As soon as guests set foot into Michael and Crystal’s home, they were transported to a world of laid-back luxury, romance, and love. Guests were welcomed by dozens of glowing candlelit lanterns and a floral-filled cocktail wall adorned with arrangements by Megan of Lovestruck Blooms, boasting both alcohol and alcohol-free concoctions from cocktail legends Bottles and Blooms.

The special day and Michael and Crystal’s love story were beautifully captured in photos + film from the husband-and-wife wedding photographer team, Nardia and Dan Niles of Foolishly Rushing In photography.

Crystal’s grand reveal was straight out of a storybook, glowing from head to toe, she wore two stunning dresses and a decadent pearl choker by Galia Lahav, who also designed her custom couture wedding gown for the couples Bali wedding ceremony.

Archive Rentals provided specialty lounge, bar, and dining vignettes that transformed the backyard and home into a dreamy oasis. Dinner by La Tabela was set outside the couple’s clifftop property with a beautiful sunset view of the canyon, as well as a custom stage by MTB Event Rentals. Brilliant Event Lighting created a heavenly canopy around the dinner tables, along with an entire wall of lights adorning the stage, and a neon sign that read “Love Loving You,” – the exact phrase Michael had engraved in Crystals’ wedding ring. This attention to detail carried on throughout the evening from Lovestruck Blooms’ awe-inspiring flower canopy flowing high above the dining table and the bride’s stunning bouquet to Velvet Fox Designs’ brilliantly constructed acrylic menus and invitations.

The happy couple wrapped up the evening with toasts and special impromptu acoustic performances by their closest friends. The newlyweds can’t wait to share the next chapter of their love story where they will finally be joined by their parents for an unforgettable Bali wedding a year from today. We’re looking forward to seeing how they outdo themselves on January 11th, 2023!
