The people around you can make or break your mental health. For the longest time, society has controlled how every gender functions, defining different roles and rules for each of the sexes. While both sexes must be treated equally, women still end up on the receiving end of all these societal norms.

Although surviving as a woman is a battle in itself, there is nothing worse than being a woman of color. Whether you are a working black woman, a stay-at-home mom, single, or married, some form of oppression always brings you down.

This inequality and injustice can eventually take a toll on your mental health, but it doesn’t end there. Many women ignore their mental health, prioritize their loved ones or other responsibilities, and forget about one thing—they matter too.

Your physical, mental, and overall well-being is much more critical than these societal standards, and you need to start taking care of your health; you owe it to yourself for a better tomorrow.

While many have turned a deaf ear to the struggles of these black women, one has gone the extra mile to do her part in society. We’re talking about the proud owner of Black Girls On The Go® (BGOTG)., Shay Sane.

Shay Sane: Breaking Barriers for Black Women

Shay Sane is well-known for her revolutionary platform, Black Girls On The Go® (BGOTG), and is a proud black woman. While Shay Sane is a recognized name today due to her initiatives to support women in her community, things weren’t always the same.

As a black woman, she also had her fair share of struggles and has been on a rollercoaster ride with her mental health, which is why this initiative holds a special place in her heart. However, despite all the ups and downs, Shay Sane came out strong and thriving and took it upon herself not to let any other Black woman suffer silently and is a travel influencer and an entrepreneur.

That’s how Black Girls On The Go® (BGOTG) emerged. Sane didn’t want any other black women to feel alone, so she introduced a platform where all women of the black community are one and be there for each other.
