The Global International Alliance recently informed Clementine Bihiga that she had been nominated to receive the prestigious 2023 Honorary Doctorate degree in Humanitarianism. She is being recognized for her exemplary contributions, dedication to humanity, and community service. The Global International Alliance Honorary Doctorate Degree exists because of amazing leaders like Clementine Bihiga, who are actively engaged in promoting human welfare and impacting the community by sharing her personal life experiences to help make a change locally and across the globe. The Global International Alliance recognizes her proven track record of providing compassionate assistance and labor within various groups, organizations, and communities for peace and humanity locally or around the world and believes she is worthy of such acknowledgment.

“I’m so excited and humbled to be recognized and receive this award. This is very meaningful because what started as a painful experience, being child refugee and the loss of my daughter has turned out to be a vehicle that has allowed me to touch so many lives of children across Africa,” said Clementine Bihiga, Independent Certified Coach, Teacher, John Maxwell Team Trainer, and Speaker. “I thank all of those who have come into my life and have helped me make this a reality. It truly takes a village because I couldn’t have done any of this without them.”

By accepting this Honorary Doctorate, Clementine Bihiga will be placed within an elite group of national and international recipients, including but not limited to community/civic leaders, religious leaders, entertainers, and government officials. The award ceremony and graduation will take place in June in Atlanta, Georgia.

“The donation of funds from Clarette Refugee Fund for the purchase of books for community education is incredibly significant. This contribution will help provide educational resources to orphans and vulnerable children, empowering them with knowledge and skills that will benefit them for years to come,” said Chilufya Simwanza, Founder and Executive Director of St. Charity Education Center. “The impact of this donation cannot be overstated and will go a long way in supporting the education and future of these children.”

The Global International Alliance Honorary Doctorate Degree recognizes Clementine Bihiga’s work with the Clarette Refugee Fund. The Clarette Refugee Fund is a non-profit 501©3 organization founded by Clementine Bihiga, a former Rwandan refugee, that works with schools around the world to provide quality education, food, uniforms, school supplies, and educational scholarships to refugee and poor local students. They have been able to serve students in Kenya, Zambia, Rwanda, and Senegal.

“The donation from Clarette Refugee Fund is instrumental to our quest for raising the literacy of our young learners in rural Rwanda,” said Aimee Fidela Halleluya, Elimu International Academy Co-Founder and Managing Director. “The library we are in the process of building will be a great asset not only to our students but also to the community, and we thank CRF for playing a decisive role in that.”

“What I do through the Clarette Refugee Fund just feels like the “right” thing to do. I have been in the shoes of these kids I support. I have been a poor refugee child who just wanted someone to see me, recognize me, and most importantly give me a second chance,” said Clementine Bihiga, Independent Certified Coach, Teacher, John Maxwell Team Trainer and Speaker. “I commend organizations such as Elimu in Rwanda and Zatu and Zambia for doing just that and I’m so honored to be part of their work. Without these sorts of organizations, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I was inspired at a young age to give back and to not wait for the “right time” to make a positive impact. Today and right now is the right time.”
