WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Common Cause announced Jordan Davis has been named the organization’s Vice President of People, Equity, and Inclusion. Following a national search and participation from every level of the organization, Davis was unanimously selected to lead Common Cause’s work to advance equity and inclusion across its national and state offices. She is the first person to hold the role in the organization’s history.
“I am deeply committed to confronting and addressing the systemic inequities that have a disproportionate impact on communities of color,” said Jordan Davis, Vice President of People, Equity, and Inclusion. “I am compelled by the mission of Common Cause because at the core of so many of the systemic inequities in our society is the lack of truly representative and accountable democracy. From day one, my focus will be ensuring that the same ideals for inclusivity Common Cause is fighting for in our government are experienced internally by every member of our organization.”
The national search for a Vice President of People, Equity, and Inclusion was conducted in partnership with Koya Partners, a leading executive search and advisory firm for mission-driven organizations. The rigorous process began with a needs assessment and the formation of a search committee of seven Common Cause staff spanning national and state offices who reviewed applications and interviewed candidates. Prior to reviewing any materials, every member of the search committee participated in Implicit Bias Training. The search committee, Common Cause management, and the Common Cause President all separately and anonymously selected Davis as their first choice. In total, Koya Partners reached out to more than 200 leaders across the country, with a focus on candidates from communities of color.

Prior to joining Common Cause, Jordan served as Senior Director of Talent Strategy and Leadership Development at the KIPP Foundation, a national network of charter schools. While there, she re-designed its national pipeline strategy to drive greater racial diversity and better preparation of aspiring principals. She also led the development of a national talent strategy to increase the representation and retention of Black and Latino/a staff across the KIPP network.
Davis will begin in the new role on August 1, 2022.
