Country Club Lima Hotel Re-Blooms Brighter Than Ever

The New ‘Best Bar in Lima” Award, Ceviche Classes, and Dom Perignon Suite Are Making This Legendary Hotel Even More of a Must-Do For Peru

The recently renovated Country Club Lima Hotel, renowned as a celebrated oasis in the middle of the city and the perfect symbiosis of the glamour of the past and cutting edge of the present, is pleased to announce that it’s Bar Inglés was the undisputed winner of the Best Bar in Lima award at the 2022 Summum Awards, one of Peruvian gastronomy’s most important galas.

“The Bar Inglés is, once again, a source of pride for the Country Club Lima Hotel. We are delighted to receive this award which celebrates the proposal in cocktails and mastery by our Head of Bar, Luiggy Arteaga,” said Vanessa Villagrán, Manager of the Hotels Business Unit of Los Portales. “This award is also a motivation that reaffirms our commitment to offer service and experiences of excellence and constant innovation without neglecting the tradition and classics that have made this bar a timeless and unique space.”

Bar Inglés is an iconic venue with more than 90 years of history and tradition, and arguably the best Pisco Sour in Lima, that has long been a source of pride for the Country Club Lima Hotel. One Saturday each month, Head Bartender Luiggy Arteaga partners with one of Peru’s most popular mixologists, such as Diageo Brand Ambassador Joel Chirinos, and together they host a special evening with live music for lovers of classic cocktails with innovative twists, where they introduce six new unique cocktails a month.

Similarly, and especially now that ceviche has become a popular dish consumed worldwide, Country Club Lima’s Executive Chef Danny Rojas and his team from Perroquet Restaurant will now be available to teach guests how to prepare several varieties of this emblematic Peruvian dish. These ceviche lessons must be booked in advance and take place in the restaurant, which is a destination worth visiting regardless, as it is home to not only incredible food but also several contributions of the Pedro de Osma Foundation, which owns one of the greatest art collections in the country. Paintings and mirrors with gold leaf frames, colonial canvases, carved cabinets and trunks with pictorial motifs, consoles, chandeliers, and the history contained in all of these items impregnate the environment with a unique and unmistakably Peruvian history and spirit.

Other new additions include La Panadería del Countrywhich is arguably now one of Lima’s favorite bakeries offering artisanal coffees, a variety of bright, enticing baked goods (for holiday festivities and more) and a light daytime menu available on its terrace, making it an instant local favorite.

Through December 22, the restaurant El Perroquet will also offer Christmas tea time service Tuesday to Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This will consist of a variety of sweet and savory slices of bread, hot and cold sandwiches, a variety of salads, a meat station, charcuterie and cheese board, and an array of desserts and fruits with a choice of pineapple, papaya or orange juice as well as a glass of cava to toast the festive season. USD$20 per person.

Each of the Country Club Lima Hotel’s corners and corridors hides a legend, a story, a mystery. Staying here means being part of Lima’s history, which is steeped in a storied icon that keeps transforming itself, preserving in its nooks and crannies visits of celebrities and countless social gatherings in one of the most exclusive areas of the capital. The recent remodeling by Francisco López Bustos took it to a whole new level while honoring and preserving its notable architectural elements from the early twentieth century. Strong stimulating visuals are found throughout all of its 83 rooms and suites, including the coveted Dom Perignon Suite.

Also worth noting, the Pedro de Osma Museum, created with the legacy of a philanthropist and collector of the same name, has donated 300 pieces to the Country Club Lima Hotel, making it a memorable destination for day visits, drinks, and meals, if not overnight stays. The hotel’s other services and amenities include banquet and convention rooms, the Yaku Spa, Peruvian silver jewelry and fine alpaca clothing stores, and a full-service business center.
