The company was created to allow people to travel through their senses to dreamy, far away destinations especially during COVID when travel was largely restricted and many were at home managing through these times alone or with their family. The smell of rose petals, bergamot, fig, and island air brings the exotic and romantic right into your own private home without ever having to leave your doorstep! The slow-burning luxury candles are also perfect gifts to share with others to create new memories.
Tell us about the founder.
A native of Fort Lauderdale Florida, I was always inspired by travel and the cultures and customs of people. From beautiful gardens and architecture to food markets and cultural habits, travel to faraway destinations intrigued me. After stepping down from my long career as a medical sales executive, I felt the need to satisfy my passion for traveling. With the support and encouragement of my three children, RareLumiere was born during the pandemic when travel was limited and candles were a constant source of relaxation and stress relief.
How did they come up with the idea?
To provide the joy of travel and beauty in an olfactory way to friends and family during a time when everyone was nesting. I wanted to create experiences and memories at home because the world outside had uncertainties and traveling was not an option. By introducing new storied cities by simply allowing people to shut their eyes and smell something layered and gorgeous is our way of sharing something beautiful.
How can this transform the world or our day-to-day lives?
Providing a luxury candle that allows people to travel through their senses to exotic and well-traveled places, offers an escape when travel is not possible.
