How did you come up with the idea?
Fei Zhao, the founder of Degrii Inc., created a company committed to bringing sustainability to every home. A highly accomplished individual with a strong background in energy efficiency and artificial intelligence, Zhao received his Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology and joined a team using sophisticated data analytics to pioneer automated virtual energy audits for buildings. This company quickly became a leader in delivering intelligent decarbonization for buildings.
It was at this time when living in the United States, Zhao found that smart thermostats were difficult to install and could not truly provide intelligent services to users. Smart thermostats could only monitor and control specific corners of the room, unable to cover the entire room. The limitations of previous smart thermostats is what inspired Zhao to create a smart, user-friendly thermostat that would make people more comfortable.
