Ariel Lavi hosts the famous fashion designer for an interview about her career in the fashion industry and her new book.
Hello Diana! How are you?
“I’m great. Just finished my new book”
What exactly do you do for a career?
“Well, I consider myself as an artist. I have worked in advertising, television, and fashion. Currently, I’m the designer of Diana Dieppa Couture”
“What was the process for you to find what you wanted to do?
“I am still in the process. I love to create”
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
“Creativity, having fun, and empowering women”
Can you tell us about your job?
“My brand, DDC, is a mirror of my story. Currently, my book ‘Fashion Passion and 19 Symbols’ is coming out, offering a new approach. I’m honored and proud to introduce Quantic Fashion (QF) to you, a new and intriguing way of conceiving fashion. And rest assured that it will change its paths and directions in the near future. A Copernican revolution between fabrics and models where symbols emerge as fantastic assistants to reawaken, like a new Cinderella, the figure of the Woman who is reclaiming her truest and hidden identity from centuries of profound chauvinistic obscurantism. Always curious about symbols and archetypes, I asked for help from the highest spheres so that I could be supported by tireless and trusted assistants in this path of alchemical awakening of us cosmic mothers. I was entrusted with 19 of them. I truly believe that this is not a coincidence, but a splendid design that the Geometry of numbers will help us discover throughout this agile text”

“That in life,you have to not be afraid and overcome your fears, because everything is possible”
What is your greatest success so far?
“I have had many wonderful moments. I won the Most Elegant Award at The Spazio Domiziano, a Roman landmark, and I was invited to China to open an official Fashion Shows as a new Italian Designer”

“I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia”

What are some of the challenges you faced along the way?
“Many.The competition in the fashion industry is the most difficult thing”
What does it take to be a successful fashion designer?
“A lot of hard work. A colleague told me you have to get your idea out there – to design and create what you want to do”
Where do you see yourself in the next five years?
“Having my own flagship store”
What advice would you give to a young fashion designer?
“Tell your story, create, and don’t give up”
Who is your biggest inspiration?
“In the fashion world, Armani and Dolce & Gabbana. I love their audacity”
