Tell us about the founder. What is their background?
Amy Bragg Maddocks has an extensive background in making consumer products goods and services. She first became a business owner in 2006 and photographed portraits, weddings, and events while completing a degree at the University of North Texas with a year spent at the University of Washington while participating in a student exchange program. Over the years, Amy’s creative resume grew with professional roles in product development, branding, and marketing. In 2016, jumped headfirst into the world of full-time entrepreneurship and began exploring the cannabis industry. After hosting in-home cannabis parties for women, she quickly saw the opportunity CBD offered as a powerful ingredient and created and launched Mad Ritual in 2018.
How did they come up with the idea?
Starting with a single product, the Eucalyptus + Peppermint relief rub was launched at the end of a local 5k. Over the years we’ve educated and provided samples to so many individuals at events, and along the way, we’ve had so many conversations about how much being sore sucks and why people become sore in the first place. The relief rub formula has been tweaked and perfected over the years for optimal texture and performance. Not only do they work, but also smell wonderful too! Blends include Bergamot, Orange + Lime, Eucalyptus + Peppermint, Lavender + Frankincense, and Unscented for those who prefer no aromatherapy or want to use it on pets. Our lineup of award-winning topicals is available in Full and Extra Strengths as well as CBD bath bombs for full-body relief. Bath bombs were an obvious extension of the product line after customers continued to joke that they “wished they could bathe in Mad Ritual!”
