Ehrlich “Firechill” Ocampo Shocks America’s Got Talent Judges

The leviwand performance combined circus performance with magic and dance that had judges on their feet.

Ehrlich “Firechill” Ocampo is taking the world by storm with his unique blend of talents. He recently traveled from the Philippines to audition for America’s Got Talent and had all four judges on their feet with his leviwand performance.

Ocampo has always loved the performing arts. He has studied dance, magic illusions, flow arts, object manipulation, and circus acrobatics to create his unique performing style. It took him years to smoothly bring these different disciplines together, but it has paid off. Even veteran talent show judges like Howie Mandel (America’s Got Talent) were blown away with his performance. Mandel said, “That is an art form we’ve never seen before, and I’ve been here a long time. That was beautiful. I love it!” All four judges agreed they had never seen anything like Ocampo’s performance before and called his act “special,” “beautiful,” and “flawless”.

The leading, one-of-a-kind, magical circus performer performs with the leviwand and hula-hoops. He was introduced to the art form at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris in 2016 and was the first to perform with the leviwand on the Cirque du Soleil stage in Syma in 2019.

David Poulin, Director for Creation of Cirque du Soleil at Sea, said, “Ehrlich is the dream artist any manager is dreaming of. He’s always professional, attentive to detail, and always working towards improving every aspect of his work. You truly believe he’s displaying superpowers.”

Ocampo says, “About eight years ago when I was already twenty-five years old and just starting to practice an obscure art in the streets of Manila, I started to dream. Despite years of challenges and struggles, I am now living that dream – traveling around the world to share my magical dance. I hope to reach more people to bring back wonder with my performances and inspire them with my journey.”

Ehrlich is also an advocate for Filipino talent. He believes the performers are just as good, if not better, than those abroad because Filipinos are used to rising above challenges. With better support in the form of facilities, instruction, mentoring, and opportunities, more aspiring talents can be developed into world-class performers.

Ehrlich aims to see more Pinoy artists on the world stage. This goal pushes him to give his best every time he performs. He hopes to inspire the next generation of talent to follow their dreams in the same way his mentors have done for him.
