Frederik Abas to share stage with the most iconic DJs like Tiësto and Don Diablo

Dutch-born DJ and producer Frederik Abas describe how choosing a course in life can lead to accomplishing goals you never imagined were achievable.

Frederik had dreamed of being a pilot since he was young. He dreamed of flying like his father, a pilot for the prestigious airline KLM. We didn’t fall in love with music, DJing, and production until he was approximately fifteen years old when he entered his teenage years.

He used to travel frequently, seeing locations that made him reevaluate his interests, as well as his dreams and horizons, and consider new goals. He started working for a drive-in show organization a year later, in 1991, when he was sixteen.

When Abas first developed an interest in dance music, he, like many artists and professionals, was influenced by DJ Marcello and DJ Dimitri Kneppers, the pioneers of Dutch house music. At that young age, his future was already planned out for him, and he also found inspiration to perform clubhouse and tech house music.

In the music industry, it’s crucial to stand up for a certain subgenre or distinctive style that defines you and eventually becomes your identity or brand. It is said that Frederik’s style is upbeat and danceable without losing his underground individuality.

During his career choices, he looked into law school and other possibilities, but everything ultimately brought him to music. Frederik’s work as a booker for the renowned and successful Loveland firm in the Netherlands began at the Beverwijk Bazaar in 1994. Frederik has performed at the Loveland Festival for eight years.

Abas has served as the main DJ at Escape Amsterdam, the biggest nightclub in Amsterdam, since 2005. At his own event in 2006, DJ Tiësto personally invited Frederik to deliver a marathon 3.5-hour set of club and tech house music. With Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Roog, Don Diablo, and other well-known DJs from Escape, including Quintino, Sidney Samson, Jean, and Tony Cha Cha, he started a residency at Bloomingdale Beach Club.
