What is your name, and what city do you represent?
My name is SAGOD, and I’m an aspiring artist and influencer. I was born in Jamaica, but my family moved to Lewiston, Maine, in the United States, when I was very young. Since then, I’ve been able to explore my creativity and develop a skill set that makes me a profound artist.
I specialize in inspiring and uplifting music combined with visual artistry. My sound can be described as a blend of reggae, hip-hop, and r&b styles. It is a unique fusion of different cultures and experiences. I like to express my thoughts on various topics through my music, so fans can relate to my content and feel it on a deeper level.
My goal is to empower my listeners and provide them with music that speaks to their souls. I believe that my music holds special meaning and gives its listeners a message of love, joy, and hope. My previous release consists of genres such as Dancehall, hip-hop, Afro, and more.
What is unique about you and your music?
The unique quality I have as an artist is my versatility. Also, my hooks could be addictive to the fans. My music mainly focuses on life experiences and social issues. Each song caters to a certain emotion and feeling so that the listeners can relate to it in their own way. My sound is unique and has elements of various genres. I’m not all about just making pop hits – there’s kind of a deeper message in the music. Connecting with the producer helps me create an atmosphere that really brings out the message behind each song.
When I collaborate with brands, my aim is always to make something that resonates with the audience. Whether it’s creating a YouTube video or an Instagram post, I like to make sure it’s authentic. I’m also very conscious of the message I’m sending out and how people might interpret it. So I always make sure the collaborations I do are in line with what I believe in.

The knowledge I have gained from my experience in music has greatly influenced my appreciation for art.
When did you realize you were going to make music professionally?
The moment I realized I was going to make music professionally was back in high school when I decided to drop sports and graduated early to pick up music and get a more understanding of the culture.
What type of music do you listen to?
I listen to many types of music like hip hop, dancehall, Afro, and many more. I have many goals that I want to accomplish in my musical career. I want to create music that is unique and different while staying true to my style and sound. I want to create music that is timeless, music that will stand the test of time, and music that can bring people from all walks of life together. I also want to use my music as a platform to inspire and motivate others, to empower people to strive for their dreams and passions, and to bring joy to others in times of hardship.
My ultimate goal is to create something that resonates with people, something that can make a deep impact on them and to create music that will last for generations to come.
What inspires you to write music?
Creating art is an incredibly fulfilling experience, and no one knows this better than SAGOD, an up-and-coming artist and influencer. SAGOD chose music as an outlet to express pain and use the experience that life has given him. His music style mainly deals with heartfelt emotions which can be felt through his lyrics and production.
The experience that he endured as an artist and person has inspired him to write music because of the talent that was given. SAGOD started off by producing songs with a workstation he purchased with money made from his job. He slowly started to invest in himself as an artist and slowly moved on to purchasing a laptop and working with better recording software. With the upgraded pieces of equipment, his song-writing began to take shape and vibrancy.
Strapping himself up and taking his career into his own hands, SAGOD started to build and improve his craft. In order to make a name for himself, SAGOD looked to the online world to showcase his art. He made sure to stay active on his social media accounts and post regularly which eventually gained him a fan base. People appreciated his music and started to recognize his great talent.
Seeing the growing interest in his art, SAGOD decided to capitalize on it and form his own label. He believed it was the perfect way to grow as an artist and to further improve his talents. This allowed him to expand his reach and find more opportunities for advancement. It wasn’t until recently that he has seen the success of his hard work and dedication.

What do you do when you don’t make music (creative or otherwise) that you are passionate about?
My life does not solely revolve around music but other activities as well. I am SAGOD, a rising artist and influencer. Music is my passion, but I also put in the effort to work on my personal growth and development. Every day, I focus on self-improvement by increasing my knowledge and honing my skills. To achieve this, I spend my time going to the gym, reading up on finance, and promoting my brand.
Physical fitness has always been important to me. Going to the gym is an integral part of my routine and I make it a point to do at least one hour of exercise every day. This helps me stay healthy and fit both mentally and physically, helping me focus more on my musical passion.
In addition to physical activity, I also focus on improving my financial literacy. Money isn’t everything, but I believe that having a good understanding of finance can greatly open up new opportunities. With my increased financial knowledge, I am able to expand my reach and make even more music.
That said, I also dedicate a lot of my time to the promotion of my brand. I spend most of my day on social media, engaging with my audience, creating content, and working with new sponsors. As an artist and influencer, networking is essential if I want to grow in this field. By actively engaging with potential collaborators and fans, I am constantly building relationships and creating new opportunities.
Through these combined efforts, I am slowly making progress every day. My time spent on physical, mental, and promotional activities ultimately help me gain more recognition as a rising artist and influencer. To reach my goals and become successful in the music industry, I understand that it’s important to put in the hard work and be consistent.

If I were just starting out as an artist, one valuable piece of advice I could benefit from would be to learn how my approach to art is distinct from that of other artists. Comparing and contrasting my work with that of others would be a great way to gain insight into my artistic style.
