Help Feed Those in Need this Giving Tuesday

Cooks Who Feed Announces New Collaboration with World Central Kitchen

Cooks Who Feed helps provide meals for those in need around the world, striving to meet 500,000 by the end of 2021

TORONTO, CANADA – (November 16, 2021) – Giving Tuesday is November 30, 2021. The day is spotlighted around the world as a reminder to do something good. Those who want to help feed hungry people around the world may want to check out Cooks Who Feed. The company ethically produces handcrafted aprons and for every apron sold, 100 meals are provided to the hungry. They do this by sharing their profits with their charity partners around the globe that recover surplus food to reduce food waste and provide hunger relief.

“World hunger is an alarmingly big issue, and it’s something that we can all help,” explains Seema Sanghavi, founder of Cooks Who Feed. “Our entire mission is to help end world hunger and feed those in need. But we can only do it by people supporting what we do.”

Thus far, the organization has provided over 300,000 meals around the world. They have a goal of reaching 500,000 meals by the end of 2021. To increase their impact, Cooks Who Feed is now supporting World Central Kitchen, a charity founded by celebrity chef José Andrés, that uses the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies through times of crisis and beyond.

To support the work done by World Central Kitchen, Cooks Who Feed now offers an apron that was inspired by the chef-led charity. This apron, named Cooks For The World, showcases colors found in the World Central Kitchen logo and its name is based on the charity’s hashtag, #ChefsForTheWorld. The apron is fair trade, eco friendly, and handmade with high quality fabrics. With each apron purchased, a $5 donation is made to World Central Kitchen. This is in addition to the 100 meals provided through Cooks Who Feed.

This Giving Tuesday, people can purchase an apron from Cooks Who Feed for themselves or as a holiday gift, and in doing so they will be providing 100 meals to help hungry people. The aprons are sustainable, environmentally friendly, and handmade through fair trade practices. The sale of each apron supports charity partners around the world, helping to reduce food waste and provide hunger relief.

“We love that we can help people with their holiday shopping, as well as provide meals to those in need this Giving Tuesday,” added Sanghavi. “Helping feed the world is the priority, but getting a beautifully designed apron along with that is a nice bonus.”

According to the World Health Organization, more than 820 million people in the world do not have enough to eat, which is one in every nine people. Another 2 billion people in the world are considered food insecure.

To encourage children to cook, Cooks Who Feed has also recently introduced a line of child aprons. The new aprons for kids come in three color combinations and two sizes, fitting ages 3-12. They are 100% 9oz organic cotton canvas, available in one size that fits ages 3-7 and one for ages 8-12. The aprons feature an adjustable neck strap, reinforced stress points, one double pocket below the waist, and a chest pocket.
