Here’s what you need to know about playing POWERBALL© in West Virginia

POWERBALL©

POWERBALL© is one of the most popular Lottery games across the US, with jackpots that have the potential to climb up to impressive amounts. If you’re in West Virginia, you’ve got three chances each week to try your chances at West Virginia POWERBALL. Here’s what you need to know before you play.

How POWERBALL© actually works

POWERBALL© is pretty straightforward. To play, you’ll pick five numbers between one and 69, plus a separate POWERBALL© number from one to 26. Your aim is to match all six in the draw.

Don’t worry if you don’t hit the jackpot, though, as there are eight other ways to potentially win prizes, from just matching the POWERBALL© number all the way up to getting all five main numbers without the POWERBALL©.

The jackpot starts at $20 million and keeps growing until someone wins it. Draws happen three times weekly – Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 10:59 PM Eastern.

How to play in West Virginia

You can purchase a POWERBALL© ticket from any licensed WV Lottery retailer or online through the official West Virginia Lottery website or app.

Here’s how to play:

  1. Pick your numbers Choose five numbers from one to 69 and one POWERBALL© number from one to 26. If you can’t decide, you can let the Quick Pick option do the work for you with random selections.
  2. Consider Power Play For an extra buck per play, this option has the potential to multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or even 10x.
  3. Decide how many draws You can play just once or buy tickets for multiple upcoming draws.
  4. Buy your ticket Double-check your numbers and complete your purchase. If you’re buying in person, keep the ticket safe and sign the back of it, as you’ll need it to claim any prizes.
