What is the “Founder story”?
Created by Professional Trainer Donny McIntyre, HEROBOARD was a result of Donny’s clients saying they needed more creative workouts that they could do on their own. Donny believes that mobile, sustainable fitness habits make the biggest difference over the long term. The HEROBOARD is small enough to fit in a suitcase but mighty enough to leave you sore for days. It can handle all types of terrain, so you can work out in a gym, a hotel room, or at your campsite. It’s created to provide stability when you need it and a challenge when you’re ready. It replaces bulky equipment and welcomes you to that sweet spot between pure bodyweight exercises and -focused fitness.
How did you come up with the idea?
Similar to Donny’s founder story, the HEROBOARD is the direct result of client needs. Donny’s clients were looking for effective ways to hit hard to hit areas like inner thighs, glutes, and hamstrings, but nothing at the gym was able to provide a constant smooth and stable motion to really hit these areas. Donny began tinkering with fitness products at the gym, like ab rollers and rowing machines but quickly found that most products were shaky, unstable, and downright felt dangerous to use. As a result, the concept of the HEROBOARD was born. Donny was focused on creating a smooth-moving platform that his clients could trust and use endlessly. After product trials with his clients, Donny constructed the smoothest moving exercise platform on the market thanks to subtle design choices, including fixed wheels, a low center of gravity, fenders for control, and a slightly angled board to not get off balance. Since then, the HEROBOARD has become a favorite among top gyms, professional trainers, and regular gym-goers alike.
