A newly launched hotel collection that’s bringing history to life by compiling the most storied country estates, castles and other unique residences-turned-accommodation scattered across the United Kingdom and Ireland is set to reach new speeds with the backing of Formula One icon Romain Grosjean.
Storied Collection, a growing community of hotels that are seeking to combine modern-day amenities with period charm, has now received financial investment from Romain, who recognized the need to connect travelers with historical and ancestral properties that have a unique and interesting tale to tell.
Romain is a Swiss-French professional racing driver who previously spent nine full-time seasons in Formula One for a variety of teams, picking up 10 podiums, all with Lotus. His newfound passion for business pursuits has now seen him invest in the hotel collection, which he describes as “history with innovation.”
The collection estimates that north of 80 million people can trace their heritage to one of their properties. The current combined age of its hotels sits at an impressive 11,291 years — with notable properties including Thornbury Castle, once owned by Henry VIII.
Romain commented on his recent investment: “When I first spoke with Storied Collection, I was blown away by the concept. I have always been deeply fascinated by historic buildings, and there was no shortage of them in my home country of Switzerland. When I saw how many amazing properties from the UK & Ireland were already in the collection, I knew instantly that I wanted to get involved in this.”
The concept was forged by hospitality veterans Justin Hauge and Michael Goldin — two highly reputable names in the industry with a wealth of experience between them. The collection is also supported by seasoned hospitality executives from Ritz Carlton, Hilton, Airbnb, and Design Hotels — rounding off a well-storied advisory team.
