1. What problem does HOTSHOT solve?

HOTSHOT for Muscle Soreness is the first and only sports shot that harnesses the power of heat and is specifically developed to help reduce Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS). It’s uniquely designed to target and calm the nerves that can get hyperactive during exercise and pound fatiguing muscles repeatedly. That pounding is what contributes to the pain felt a day or two after an intense workout. HOTSHOT for Muscle Soreness is then amped up with 100% plant-based ingredients that are scientifically proven to help the body produce Nitric Oxide during exercise which over time helps increase endurance, and improve workout stamina, and accelerate recovery time.

5 Facts About How Exercise Helps You Live Longer

HOTSHOT was originally developed by two Neuroscientists / Endurance athletes who were friends, exercise partners, and colleagues at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Rod MacKinnon is now at The Rockefeller University as the Head of Laboratory in the Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology and Biophysics and won the 2003 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.  Dr. Bruce Bean is a Professor of Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School. While they are no longer actively involved in the business, it’s their original work on cramping that guides HOTSHOT expansion into new problems to be solved like muscle soreness.

3. How did they come up with the idea?

They were winter Kayaking off the coast of Cape Cod together when both were hit with debilitating muscle cramps. They knew they were both fully hydrated, had taken electrolyte supplements, were well-conditioned, and were frustrated that they continued to cramp during exercise. That began their journey of curiosity and after five years of scientific research, they reached a surprising truth: preventing muscle cramps and reducing muscle soreness is not just about treating the muscles, it’s also about treating the nerves.

4. How can this transform the world or our day-to-day lives?

Ironically, one of the best things we can do to reduce DOMS is to have a light workout the next day. Go for a short run, ride, swim, or just a light workout. But for most of us, we are too sore, so we skip that next day workout. HOTSHOT for Muscle Soreness helps reduce next-day soreness so we can get back at it and keep pushing through our routines.

5. What do customers love most about the product?

They love the fact it helps them keep doing what they love with less pain. Our customers are passionate about health, exercising, and training – these priorities are a major part of who they are, and they rely on HOTSHOT to help them push harder and finish stronger.

6. Where can people get this product?

HOTSHOT is available on TeamHOTSHOT.com, Amazon, and The Feed.com. We are also available at select CVS HealthHUBs, REI, Road Runner Sports (and RoadRunerSports.com), and hundreds of independent running and bike stores across the country.
