Transcending his musical roots, Leonardo Prakash, debuts his first single as a singer-songwriter, “Keep the Faith” with Spirit Voyage Records
TULUM, MEXICO. July 29, 2022 – Plucking the strings of his beloved instrument is how most people have experienced Leonardo Prakash’s music. “Keep the Faith” will surprise and delight his fans as he unveils his talents as a poet and singer, sharing a deep and vulnerable facet of himself in his new project of songs. Prakash sings over guitar, baglama, bass and drums with gentle harmonies dancing over his smooth, silky voice. This is the first of three singles leading up to his upcoming album “Dry Leaves,” an album of original songs that welled up from his creative core.
“I love to sing,” says Prakash, “but I never thought I would have the courage to do it. Last summer, seeing the state of the world, I started to write again. I gave myself permission and it was beautiful because everything kind of aligned for this project to happen. I feel great, happy, grateful, everything all together. To share music with people is a real privilege, one of the best feelings of truth and fulfillment.”

Leonardo Prakash is a French-Mexican musician classically trained in his youth in guitar and sitar, and later in harp, flute, and jarana jarocha. His unique musical voice has transcended his traditional foundations. His music experimentis with the fusion of the intrinsic sounds of these instruments into classic rock and roll, flamenco, Indian raag, and the folk music of Latin America, Turkey, Japan, the Middle Eastern and East Africa.
Prakash is the proud recipient of the FONCA (Mexico’s National endowment fund for culture and the arts). Throughout the years, Prakash has collaborated on a wide array of musical projects and has toured in Europe, the US, Canada and Mexico. His collaborations span many genres with artists such as Bogdan Djukic, Jesus Mejía, Mitote Jazz, Jorge Pardo, Historias de Radne Krishna, Mar De Leva, Ganabia, Elamir, Mirabai Ceiba, Jai-Jadeesh, and Snatam Kaur, amongst others.
