What to Do When You Are in a Long-Distance Relationship With Your Siblings

Everybody knows long-distance relationships exist; however, most people think about them in the romantic sense. They think about partners who live in different states, countries, or continents, who see each other every once in a while. The truth is long-distance relationships come in various forms. A large number of us are in a never-ending long-distance relationship with family members. For that reason, here are a few ideas on what to do when you are in a long-distance relationship with your siblings.

Watch movies

With so many different streaming services at hand, there are ways in which you and your siblings can watch the same movie simultaneously. Whether you press play at the exact same second while on FaceTime or use a service like Netflix Party, you can enjoy it together. Choose a movie from your childhood or something you have not yet seen and spend the night with one of your favorite people.

Create a book club

Reading the same book can create an incredible bond between two or more people. You get to discuss it, share your opinions, and create your own fake scenarios. With apps like FaceTime, Whatsapp, Zoom, and Meets, you can choose a day out of the week, a book, and the number of chapters to read and start discussing a new adventure.

Play games

Video games and digital board games are excellent options for a weekend with your siblings, even though they are kilometers away. You can connect your PlayStation, XBOX, or Wii and play the same games. Or you can find the online version of your favorite board game and recreate those rainy evenings of your childhood.

Share a meal

When reconnecting with people you have not seen in a while, you usually do it over a delicious meal. That tends to be difficult when the people you love are in a different place, unable to make it for dinner. That is why you and your siblings can choose a night, probably Friday or Saturday, cook the same meal or order from the same place and sit in front of the camera to eat together. Laugh, share what happened during the week, and enjoy a delicious meal.

Living far away from the people who know you the most can be challenging. However, the bond with your siblings is something distance cannot break, and there are plenty of ways in which you can continue to make it stronger from afar. You just need to find what to do when you are in a long-distance relationship with your siblings.
