Maro delivers hard-hitting new album ‘REJECTS’

Polish multi-media artist, producer, DJ, sound engineer and award-winning mix/mastering engineer Maro has shared a new album titled REJECTS. Powerful and diverse, the album provides a poignant 28-track offering that takes the listener through a versatile series of rich soundscapes. Featuring contributions from legendary emcees like Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Killah Priest, Kool Keith, and more, the album is poignant and hard-hitting, gripping the listener in its enticing atmosphere and simply not letting go.

“WHAT YOU WANT” provides an infectious offering with cascading vocal samples and crisp, heavy percussion underscored by rich bass. A prime example of Maro’s technical proficiency as a producer, the song’s textural feel and ear for detail make it a true album highlight. “KILLA” featuring Lex Lu contains space-age production and heavy sonics that provide a powerful accompaniment to Lu’s fluid lyricism. “WAY UP HERE”, featuring Mickey Shiloh, makes for an engaging listen with its emotive, potent soundscape and airy, expansive feel. “BODY PARTS”, featuring legendary Wu Tang Clan emcee Cappadonna, makes for another highlight with gritty production centered around swelling, dark synths and grooving percussion. “10, 9, 8, 7”’s drum line stands out immediately, with cathartic percussion and grimy bass that could rattle the trunk of any vehicle. Lastly, the album closes out with “TIME”, an emotionally-tinged record that is equal parts replayable and thought-provoking. “TIME” makes for an impactful finisher that captivates with its focused, cathartic sound.

Said MARO of his album, “REJECTS is a story that takes the listener into a different world, one similar to our dimension but in an alternate reality. I spent several years improving the story, musically, as well as the plot. The music seems eclectic but somewhere deeper, it comes together.” He continues, “My goal was to have both the musical layer, the storyline, and the all-important graphic layer, illustrate my universe to the audience. This album is a collection of my fascination with the films, books and music I grew-up on.”

Maro Music (also, “MARO”) is a DJ/producer, composer, Polish sound engineer and subject of important international music publications. He hosts a weekly radio show, “Addicted To Music,” named after his professional recording studio, on Dash Radio (U.S.) and other radio stations. His latest album REJECTS is a true sonic tour-de-force, chock full of bangers that entice and captivate with their vibrant soundscapes.
