Founded in late 2021 by Bryan Carlin, who’s made a successful career in digital design & media, and wanted to help frustrated homeowners like him see the potential in homes that were “imperfect” or just needed some serious TLC, Revise, positions itself as a design service for home buyers. Buyers can seek out Revise services who’ll match them with a Real Estate agent.
In exchange, when buyers close on a home, Revise provides two (2) renovation designs, at their direction, for any interior or exterior space they choose. It’ll be a free service for the buyer and Revise takes a finder’s fee from the matched agent.
Q. When was Revised started and why?
A. Started in late 2021. As a frustrated home buyer, I was outbid for all the homes I made offers on. Realized that there was less pressure for the imperfect or fixer homes, but it was hard to see how they could be as nice as the “dream home” type properties I was competing for. Wanted to create a design resource for buyers to help them see the possibilities in any home.
Q.Does Revise work with Real Estate Firm for Agents? If so, how?
A. As a design partner, our position is to capture buyers early in the process and send them to trusted agents in the buyer’s market to find and close on a home. We’re building a network of highly regarded agents that we can work with on an ongoing basis.
Q. What benefits does Revise offer to Agents looking to sign on in a collaborative way?
A. We send buyers to agents in order to find and purchase homes. As we acquire and vet leads before matching with an agent, we’re a high quality referral channel with no upfront costs to the agent.
Q: What is the entire purpose for Revise Home sites? Is it easier to just contact an interior designer?
A: The site serves as inspirational content for home buyers. Through our content, we’re looking to capture buyers early in the process. If they use Revise to find an agent, we’ll provide renovation designs, for any interior or exterior spaces, for free. They can take our designs and then work with a designer (or contractor) to implement, or DIY projects, but no interior designer would work for free or render the digital renovations the way we can.
