What problem does the product solve?
There have been many advancements in society. One of them is the production of man-made fabrics such as Polyester, Rayon, Nylon & Acrylic. While incredible, they have also presented many health issues for the world we live in and the health of its people. Many man-made fabrics have been discovered to leak toxic residue into our water sources and skin. For babies, this is a huge cause for concern. Studies and research have shown that skin barrier development is not fully developed until the end of the 1st year of life. With this knowledge and the ever-increasing awareness of toxins in clothing, it is hard to ignore the intense effects it can have on our children, especially our babies.
We hope to provide a better, durable & reliable product that checks off all the basic requirements for a mom when looking for clothing that is completely free of toxins, healthy, desirable, supports the world their children are growing in, and durability. Babies & toddlers might be little, but they sure do know how to go through their daily dose of clothing.
How can this transform the world or our day-to-day lives?
Over the past 20 or so years, numerous studies have shown the high impact of toxins in our clothes on our bodies, the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the land we grow our food on. Creating or purchasing organic clothing limits the toxic load on our little ones and the planet we all live on. Fewer toxins mean healthier children, healthier food, fewer illnesses, fewer developmental issues, and so much more.

Tell us about the founder. What is their background?
Gabriela Wentworth is a mom of two, ages two and four. She grew up in the music industry, attending both performing arts high schools and music colleges. As she married and had her own kids, life hit her differently. With a background in the music business, she had always been both creative and business savvy; her passions shifted from music to motherhood. When she became a mom, she became more hyper-aware of every aspect of her family’s life. The biggest lane she started to explore was health. So she went back to school, became a health coach, and started to help women and families who were exploring their health. She started to notice a common issue in young children, they suffered from toxic overload. She wanted to make a difference and present a healthy option for moms who might be concerned and aware of these issues. As well as create a company that was more about the people in their community than selling products. Mercurii Baby is a growing business serving its community with health-focused kids’ wear & products, health tips, support, community & updates to research that might help create a healthier environment for moms, their children, and their whole family.
How did they come up with the idea?
As she was pregnant with her 2nd baby and found herself nesting (the impulsive emotion a mom feels to prepare for her baby), she was organizing her daughter’s room and realized that the basic onesies she had bought only a few weeks ago that said they were organic had moth holes in them! It was frustrating to think they would go through that many onesies, and the baby wasn’t even there. After some research, she realized that producing higher-quality baby basics was an easy fix; don’t bleach the cotton & don’t make them so thin! This began their journey into baby clothes.

What do customers love most about the product?
The current customer favorite is all our unbleached, undyed products. It is natural, pure, and organic cotton. It is unreal soft & many moms have really loved that. Even with a blowout or baby mess, they are super easy to clean, making them last longer than their other baby basics. Currently, we have the unbleached undyed in our onesies, rompers, frill rompers, oversized blankets & dress shirts. We also have more designs in our unbleached undyed to come for the cooler months!
