What problem does NittyGritti solve? 

When brands/sellers post content on their product details page, they cannot know if they have got it all right. There are images to get right, videos,  text, and within-text titles, bullets, and descriptions – this is a space where every bit matters and its important to make the most of provisions available But, this process of checking what’s been put and what’s right and wrong is all done manually, This means the entire approach becomes subjective, can never be accurate, can’t get granular and most importantly – the know-how of what needs to be fixed is missing.  We built a platform that uses AI and algorithmic engines to deliver a  Catalogue Quality Assessment Score (CQaS) along with recommendations for fixing the gaps.

What is the “Founder story”? 

It happened at the peak of the lock-down when a whole new set of customers were forced to shop online, and we studied how many of them struggled to decide on the product to buy NittyGritti is a COVID baby and was conceptualized and built wholly through remote working. The idea was to find the right way of guiding brands/sellers to understand the gaps and fix them. 

Both founders have a strong advertising and brand communication background, so content is not new to them. A decade of experience in e-commerce (6 in Amazon) Nikita, the CEO, and 12 years in data & analytics of the other founder Anand Siva delivered the perfect mix to help brands derive data-driven decision-making.

How did they come up with the idea? 

What started as an agency-model idea took the shape of a tech solution for three reasons: one, everything in e-com must be done at scale; two, it must be able to do it at speed; three, there was no robust tech solution to do this. We spent a couple of months looking at various solutions and models and were surprised this area was completely untapped. 

Since there was no tech solution, there was no global standard, and why one brand was good, and the other bad was purely subjective and personal. It was a perfect opportunity to introduce a tech-driven industry standard.

What do customers love most about the service? 

The audit’s granularity–covers nearly 185 different parameters that break down the page into many parts. And the interactive dashboard gives an overview of the sum of parts while also delivering guidance at the granular level. 

The ease of audit – they need to provide the product URLs – either by pasting them into an online form or adding them via a chrome extension.
