What problem does Perkies solve?
Perkies has a few products, all are “innovative undergarments” to solve the fashion needs of women. Our first product, and impetus behind the brand, is the Perkies Sticky Bra (backless/strapless stick on the bra): The first ever sticky bra with layered and replaceable adhesives. Current sticky bras lose adhesion easily, get dirty, and fall off when you least expect it. To combat these issues, our patent-pending replaceable adhesive design allows for a fresh stick, a clean bra, and a more sustainable option.
Our next product is Perkies Petals: Premium, reusable, seamless nipple covers. These come in three nude shades and a convenient, transportable travel case. This product offers nipple coverage without a sticky bra’s support/full coverage.
My favorite recent product is Perkies Nips: A premium, reusable nipple enhancer. Perkies Nips were created for two reasons. Perkies Nips serve as nipple enhancers to provide a consistent, desirable, perky look for women who want perky nips, who may not have perky nips all the time (these are also great for women with inverted nipples). Our primary reason for creating this product was to create a sense of normalcy and confidence for women who have had mastectomy surgery and no longer have nipples. Throughout our partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (we donate 5% of website sales to BCRF), I’ve learned about the needs of survivors and pre-vivors and quickly learned that this was one of them. Perkies Nips are the first of their kind and also play into the pop culture trend of “free the nip.”
How can this transform the world or our day-to-day lives?
Perkies is dedicated to sustainability, inclusivity, and empowering women to feel confident. Our products provide a strong sense of confidence in our customers (I am one of them, and I can attest). Our products are designed with our end users in mind. Confidence is the best outfit one can wear, and wearing a product that gives you confidence, both in how you feel and act, directly correlates to success.

What is the “Founder story”?
With my own frustrating experiences with sticky bras, and after watching my friends and sisters have similar frustrating experiences, I thought there must be a solution to this, and if there isn’t, I am going to create one. Sticky bras lose adhesion easily, get dirty, and fall off when you least expect it. I thought of creating a sticky bra with replaceable adhesives to combat these issues. I thought of this idea in High School, and it resurfaced until my junior year in college (Spring of 2017). I studied Business & Entrepreneurship at Brown University and took a class called “The Entrepreneurial Process.” Through this class, we learned about starting a company by closely reading entrepreneurial case studies. As part of the class, students were tasked to develop an idea- a product or service that solves a customer pain point- and create a full-fledged business plan. I pitched this idea, and my team was on board. Heading into my senior year, I decided to run with this idea, given all the positive feedback on the concept. After I graduated in 2018, with some wind behind my back through pitch competition success, I decided to bring this idea to life! I worked for years to transform the idea of the “Reliabra” (now, Perkies) into an opportunity that is now a commercial reality.
How did you come up with the idea?
When this idea surfaced, I was on vacation with my friend’s family in Anguilla. In the humidity of a Caribbean evening, my (mom’s) sticky bra began to slip off. It wasn’t the first time this had happened. I turned to my friend, Gabrielle, and said, “someone needs to create sticky bras with replaceable adhesives!”. Thankfully, Gab logged this idea on her phone’s “idea list.” A full six years later, when I was taking my entrepreneurship class at Brown, I reached out to Gab, knowing that over the years, a few ideas of mine were logged in her phone. In her simple reply, “the only one I recall is the sticky bra idea!”, Perkies was born. It turns out that “someone” needed to create the sticky bra with replaceable adhesives was me!

Women love all of our products for different reasons. Women love the clean and fresh stick that the Perkies Sticky Bra offers and the fact that they can purchase the replacement adhesives without replacing the entire bra.
