The Hope of Survival

We are currently living in a time of unprecedented circumstances. 2020 will forever be an unforgettable year; a year of unthinkable loss, fear, and heartache.

However, despite the immense tragedy that has befallen our nation and our world, the year 2020 can also be marked by the extraordinary capacity of the human spirit.

As a nation and as community members, we came together in unison to fight something that we knew could not break us. We grew strong in the fight for our families and our futures, and now our futures are shining with hope.

A Group Hard Hit

Every single one of us was impacted in some form by the COVID-19 pandemic. We were all affected in different ways.  The small business community and our nation’s up-and-coming entrepreneurs were a group that was hit especially hard.

But those with the entrepreneurial spirit proudly took a stand against the virus and the destruction it was leaving in its wake, and they came out stronger than ever.

However, this was no easy task; it took immense determination and the tenacity to never give up. With that unbreakable spirit we, as a people, were able to do the impossible…beat the pandemic and come out stronger!

A New Beginning

As we make our way well into 2021, our nation is slowly reopening which means that small businesses are opening their doors and the entrepreneurial spirit is awakening anew with the hope and promise of brighter tomorrows.

In 2020, the COVID-19 Pandemic paused for no one. Even some of the biggest names in the entrepreneurial landscape were hard hit.

Barbara Corcoran, real estate mogul, and star of the hit ABC show, Shark Tank, was not excluded from the effects the pandemic had on her multiple businesses and investments.

As we open up a new chapter in our lives and get back out there in 2021, Barbara has offered some excellent advice for entrepreneurs of all kinds as they get back to launching and promoting their new businesses.

Advice from an Expert

Here we will take a look at three of Barbara’s helpful tips that all entrepreneurs and small business owners can put to good use.

1. Don’t Let Fear Slow You Down

According to Barbara, fear of the unknown and the fear of failure are among the top reasons that hold entrepreneurs back from pursuing their dreams.

Barbara tells entrepreneurs every day to believe in themselves and to believe in their products. When entrepreneurs have confidence and believe in their business, they are showing others, including potential customers, their passion for their idea.

So, don’t let the fear of failure hold you back! At times, things will not go the way you were expecting them to and that is okay. The difference lies within what you do with your failures; learn from them and let them spur on your efforts even further.

2. Back Up Your Concept

To encourage other people to believe in your product, you must believe in it yourself. Do not doubt yourself!

Continue working on the improvement of your product as well as your business model so that you can present a well-developed concept and prove to your consumers that you have a high-quality idea.

The key to achieving this is to begin small. When you have an idea for a business, first begin by presenting the idea to family members or friends. If these people respond well, you can continue sharing your idea with others.

3. Look Beyond The Earn

When you are first starting as a business owner it can be very hard to see the future. All you can see is the here and now, the money that you need, the inventory that you need to produce. How will you get it all done?

Barbara reminds entrepreneurs to look beyond this and into the impact that their business and products are going to have on the world. Because for all entrepreneurs, money, and success is just a small part of the true reward which is serving others and seeing lives changed for the better.

If you are an entrepreneur feeling especially discouraged by these present circumstances, Barbara and all of the nation encourages you not to give up.

Our nation needs small businesses and innovative entrepreneurs like you to continue making our nation the strong force that it is today.

Just take each day and each step at a time, and focus on the difference you are making in the world, because all positive change, no matter how small, makes an impact beyond what you can imagine.
