As human beings, we are prone to making mistakes. We often find ourselves making a decision that could further lead to a consequence. Sometimes, those consequences are positive, while at other times, we are dealt with a consequence that we wish we could change. Regardless of the outcome of the decisions that we make, it is important to act or react in a way that is meaningful, and full of purpose. That is, we must make sure that our intentions are clear, in order to avoid potential problems, either with another human being, or a particular situation. Here are a couple of different ways in which we can do better and set good intentions to the universe.

Always mean what you say.
Just about anyone can relate to the idea of saying something to someone that they simply did not mean, but instead, were just words that were sputtered out in the heat of the moment. While this can cause a devastating outcome, it is crucial that when moments like this occur, we are cognizant of it. One of the phrases that I live by, always mean what you say, is something that I believe everyone should consider. Words can hold a lot of power, and so when there is dialogue established between human beings, the communication that is being expressed should have some sort of meaning. So, when you find yourself in a heated situation, or feeling pressed to say something that will not come out in a positive manner, consider this phrase, because words can be remembered for a long time, and often used against you in later times.

Words can be just as impactful as actions.
You might have heard of the common phrase, “Actions speak louder than words”. Although this phrase does include some level of truth, there is also the idea that words can be just as meaningful. For instance, when saying things like, “I hate you”, or, “You mean nothing to me”, most of the time, we do not mean these things when we say them. However, the person on the receiving end of these words may find themselves feeling upset, and changing their perspective of the accuser. Relating back to the first recommended phrase, it is so important to understand and recognize that words can be just as impactful as actions. There is certainly the argument that both words and actions are detrimental to how we imply ourselves to other people. Keep in mind that the way we act and present ourselves in this world is important, but so are the formations of sounds that we put together and blurt out to another human being.
At the end of the day, there is the realization that we are human beings, and we are not perfect. We WILL mess up, and say or do something that we perhaps wish that we could take back. However, the primary difference is that if we can be more aware of the words that we say, and set intentions that are purposeful and positive, then our entire outlook on the universe can change. Be the change that we need to see in the world.
