You may expect to see gorgeous faces in Hollywood, but what about your local mayor’s office or the boardroom of a national bank? While the concentration of beauty may be highest among actors and models, people in other professions can turn heads, too. With the help of a StyleSeat blog on unexpected “hot” spots of beauty, we identify the best-looking celebrities in surprising industries.
The Hottest Political Party
Politics makes some people’s blood boil, but attractive politicians turn up the heat for a different reason. Perhaps it’s no surprise that looks matter in politics, as voters tend to be heavily swayed by the physical appearance of candidates. This pattern holds true on both sides of the aisle, with Republican Sarah Palin making the list as well as Former Democrat (and current Independent) Tulsi Gabbard.
Studies have shown that people from vastly different countries tend to agree on what makes a good-looking leader. The hottest politicians from around the world include Sanna Marin (a member of the Finnish parliament), Jacinda Ardern (former prime minister of New Zealand), and everybody’s favorite political crush, Justin Trudeau (the prime minister of Canada).
Leaders in Business and Beauty
Although ambitious men are traditionally considered more desirable, money and power don’t equal looks. Only one business leader made the list of the most attractive celebrities: Elon Musk. A recent study suggests that while women (and their parents) say more ambitious men theoretically make better mates when it comes to actually choosing a partner, they pick the more attractive man.
A-Plus Athletes
Since many athletes devote themselves to honing their physique, it’s not a shock to find so many on the list of good-looking celebs. However, all of the sports personalities chosen were women, hinting at a widespread (and perhaps unfair) obsession with the attractiveness (and femininity) of female athletes.
The competitors voted the best-looking run the gamut of sports, from car racing (Danica Patrick to soccer (Alex Morgan) to gymnastics (McKayla Maroney). A few personalities blend sports and entertainment, with the WWE’s Ronda Rousey making the list alongside actress and mixed martial artist Gina Carano.
Beauty Is Everywhere
Just as beauty is concentrated in certain fields, it also tends to be concentrated in certain locations. However, they’re not necessarily the places you might think. While New York and California make the top five, the highest number of hot celebs nationally actually hail from Washington, D.C. Rounding out the top five are Delaware and Massachusetts, with Arizona and Nebraska coming in next.

So what does this analysis show us? We can find beauty everywhere. It’s among musicians and martial artists, and it’s in Bermuda, Barbados, and Maine. If we open our eyes to more than just red carpet events, flashy gowns, and makeup moguls, we’ll be more likely to appreciate it whenever and wherever it occurs.
