Digital transformation agency The Keenfolks has expanded, opening an office in New York after securing significant demand for its innovative digital strategies across the US. Last quarter, the company closed five new accounts interested in DGM, a 9-step unique methodology developed by The Keenfolks to help global firms bridge the gap between consumers and companies’ digital adoption speed.
To supplement headquarters in Barcelona with offices in Mexico City, the expansion will help The Keenfolks meet the demands of their growing USA clientele base, which already represents 40% of their annual turnover, including multinationals such as Coca Cola, Mars Corporation, Reckitt Benckiser, Johnson & Johnson, Merck Pharmaceutical and more. During the first half of 2020, The Keenfolks has helped clients exceed their digital sales objectives by up to 122%.
The expansion comes the same week the agency was named Best Agency of the Year 2022 in the Digiday Marketing and Advertising Awards, recognizing The Keenfolks’ growth and work in providing digital transformation services to better understand consumers in a digital-first world, adopting new technology and changing behavior (buying everything online, using 5G, voice assistants, IoT, crypto, metaverse, etc).
Digital Gap Management is pioneering the use of ‘active micro-moments,’ providing tailored content to customers at relevant times. This methodology helps companies keep pace with the relentless evolution of customer habits by harnessing technologies such as Big Data, AI, and machine learning. The Keenfolks created a single data platform unique to each of their clients, applying advanced analytics to deliver personalized communication.
The move to the US creates 10 new jobs within the diverse team of 100 that currently comes from 26 countries and speaks 18 languages. The Keenfolks will bolster its team further through its Keen Academy internship program, which is open to college and university graduates from across the globe, launching digital careers for 45 team members and collaborating with different business schools to attract and train top talent in digital gap management and transformation.
Buoyed by its recent results, the company is now eyeing further expansion. Miguel Machado CEO says: “Through the development of active micro-moments, we are lighting a path towards a new kind of marketing, powered by digital technology. The company has implemented the Process Communication Model, a management tool that considers individual personalities and motivations. The Keenfolks helps A-level talent become hybrid professionals and quantum marketers, an “AI-first agency” bridging human creativity with Artificial Intelligence, implementing conscious automation that increases efficiency for all.”
The opening of the New York office is the latest milestone for the firm and through its unique agency category – digital gap management – the business has doubled its revenue year on year and increased its portfolio of clients by 75%. After delivering a 150% increase in online sales for Coca-Cola, the business was able to open new offices in Mexico City in 2021 and has now expanded again.
Xavi Cortadellas, The Keenfolks CGO says, “We sustainably doubled our capabilities last year through hiring, training, and implementing the agile methodology. In 2018, we achieved €1.4M revenue, €2.9M revenue in 2019, and €5.2M revenue in 2020. Our work with Merck Pharmaceutical was recognized and rewarded with the “AboutPharma” Digital Award. Our “Glo-cal” approach has led to us expanding operations to an additional seven countries, with increased localization of services led by regional teams. We grew our multi-disciplinary team of Keenfolks by 375% compared to 2018. We have delivered campaigns in 40 counties, 20 languages, and across five continents from our Barcelona and Mexico city powerhouses and home offices.”
While many growing organizations struggle to overcome the “valley of death,” The Keenfolks strategically restructured and accelerated growth, supported by core teams and Content Powerhouse. They created two groundbreaking studies to better understand the digital landscape in 2021. The “Digital Gap Report 2021” is a collaboration with 100+ C-level executives from the USA, Europe, and LATAM regions to discover the current state of the digital gap. The “Bridge The Digital Gap” influencer study united 59 experts from big data, customer experience, marketing technology, and social media fields to investigate ways companies can close the digital gap.
