What problem does this Accessory solve?
In 2017 I wanted to buy a pickleball bag for my mom who is fashion savvy, likes haute couture, and loves a great functional bag. After searching the internet, looking at pro shops, and asking around I realized there was nothing. I decided this was a problem I could fix and started designing a bag. We created a bag that works on and off the pickleball court. The bags mix function and fashion and have thoughtfully designed pockets to hold your paddle, balls, and pickleball essentials securely. The bag is luxurious and lightweight. The bag includes designated interior pockets that hold 3 pickle balls and keep your water in the shade while you play. Tell us about the founder. What is their background?
Lori Manzer is the CEO and driving force of Georgie & Lou. After working on bag design she realized this could and would be a lot more fun with friends so she reached out to her closest for a partner. Lori and Mimi have been working together ever since and the collaboration has been a great fit. Both women are outdoor enthusiasts, have a never-give-up attitude, and love a great bag. Accessory
How did they come up with the idea?
In 2017 Lori saw opportunity emerging out of Pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. She went looking for a savvy, haute bag to give her mother, an avid player, and she could not find one that functioned well and looked fashionable. Mimi felt this as well – she and her husband had just become interested in pickleball, and she knew practical but-fashionable accessories in the space were non-existent. How can this transform the world or our day-to-day lives?
We believe that style does not have to be left off the court. We are here because we have a love for pickleball and believe style and function can work together. Constantly switching bags from the court to work, the store, kid’s events, and meeting friends is a hassle, and moving all our belongings back and forth is just a pain.
