Virtual reality has become almost the norm in video games, and although you won’t see as many VR titles released as, say, photorealistic iterations of popular games, there are definitely reasons to be cheerful and hopeful about the future.
One is the list of upcoming games set in this vertical. Much like you would want to find out more information about casinos in Malaysia from Roulette Doc before you play any, you would want to get caught up on all you need to know about VR games before you choose or purchase one.
Steam makes it very easy to buy such games, which is another boon and a reason to explore them further. To find out more about what great VR games there are in the pipeline in 2024 & 2025, we have put a detailed list for you. Here is it at a glance.
Batman Arkham Shadow | Dive into the world of Batman, and specifically – the uncanny Arkham Asylum. Walking down these villainous buildings is definitely not for the faint of heart. |
Band Space | Ever wanted to feel like a rockstar? How about Band Space? This VR adventure puts you in the big scene, playing awesome music. Stage frights, the cheers and boos of the crowds are all part of the experience. |
Metro Awakening | The world is at an end – the last survivors scuttle in the Moscow metro and do their best to live day in and day out. Yet, there are horrors lurking in the shadows of the abandoned tunnels. Are you brave enough to venture further? |
Metal: Hellsinger | Play some heavy metal in your headphones and slay your way through the armies of hell in this gripping VR adventure that will instil the fear of God in you. |
Batman Arkham Shadow
Arkham Asylum is hand-down one of the most frightful places to have ever been conjured by a franchise. Although Batman Arkham Shadow is not specifically focused on the asylum facility itself, you are sucked into this scary world in which you will find yourself treading through dark tunnels, fighting deranged opponents, and trying to make it onto the other side alive and well – not having lost your own sanity in the process.

The game draws on traditional VR combat mechanics and will have you perform specific moves with your body and hands in order to land a hit on your enemies. It’s a fun and captivating title that will definitely be a worthy purchase.
Band Space
Have you ever wondered what it would be like for you to travel around as part of a band? Well, in this VR game, you need not worry – Band Space puts you in the shoes of an aspiring music band that is actually playing gigs and cultivating fans of hundreds of thousands.
Do well, and your concert halls will be brimming at the seams. Get sloppy and face the crowd’s judgment. The audience’s adoration can be lost just as easily as it has been won, and this is one of the strong parts of Band Space as a VR game experience, offering you the chance to walk in a real musician’s shoes. Too much pressure? Don’t worry – just take off the VR set!
Metro Awakening
Based on the popular novel series, Metro Awakening is just the perfect VR game to explore. In the dark tunnels of the Moscow metro, a stew of horrors lurks – mutated beings and humans who have long lost their humanity. Donning your headset to probe those dark corridors but once you do – it’s your only way to survive in the game. You will get to:
- Search areas for vital supplies
- Fight off mutants
- Compete against rival humans and survivors
The VR setting is easily visceral and compelling as you tread carefully through dank tunnels, avoiding barbed wires and other metallic trash left from the bygone ages. Yet, this is not all you have to worry about, as various monsters will pounce at you and try to, well, eat you!
Bit jumpy? Metro Awakening will make you jump to the roof! It’s a fantastic and deeply immersive experience that you do want to try at least once.

Metal: Helsinger
The game has it all – metal music and demon-slaying. This is for those of you who are really into metal and don’t mind slaying demons to an epic background of Nordic heavy guitars. The game is simply breathtaking, and you will feel like a real badass picking from various weaponry and performing cool moves (if you are in the game, otherwise quite goofy for anyone watching you!) to slay your foes and win the game.
All in all, the future of VR games is really outstanding, and there is a lot to see, try and do, all of which can boil down to some pretty amazing gameplay!
