WonderWorks Panama City Beach Hosts Sensory Day

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida – (November 28, 2022) – Inclusion is an essential part of the WonderWorks mission, ensuring that everyone in the community gets a chance to have fun and play. With that in mind, WonderWorks Panama City Beach is hosting a special Sensory Day for children and adults with special needs on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 10 am to 12 pm. Discounted admission tickets will be available upon arrival for only $12 per person, plus tax.

“The WonderWorks mission is all about inspiring as many young scientists as possible, so hosting these sensory-friendly events throughout the year is very important to us,” says Adam Kimball, general manager of WonderWorks Panama City Beach. “Sensory Day is the perfect time for families looking for a fun experience with limited stimulation to visit.”

During this special sensory-friendly event, WonderWorks exhibits will be altered to limit stimulation, making the facility more comfortable and more inviting for guests with special needs. Loud displays will be turned off, the inversion tunnel will be stopped, and music will be lowered to help provide a safe environment where visitors will not feel overwhelmed.

Many of the interactive exhibits provide educational and sensory benefits, aligning with various national education standards for grades K-12. Tickets for the event can be purchased upon arrival at the front desk. The reduced ticket price will be available for parents, caretakers, families, and children. More information can be found online about Sensory Days

WonderWorks Panama City Beach also offers field trips for educational groups year-round. They provide a perfect spot for field trip needs, combining fun and education throughout four floors. Students will learn something without realizing it while having fun and creating great memories with their peers. All educational groups are invited to participate, including public and private schools, sports teams, after-school programs, colleges, homeschool organizations, special needs programs and more. There are group rates, educational add-ons, and lunch options available. To plan a visit, learn more about the field trip options.

“WonderWorks truly is the perfect place for a field trip! We’ve got rides, trivia, games, a scavenger hunt, lunches, and much more! Let us plan the perfect outing for your class,” says Paula Fredrick, education sales manager at WonderWorks Panama City Beach.

On top of group events, WonderWorks also offers several educational programs for students and teachers to participate in.
