You’d Be “Bonkers” Enough to Let Cool Boy Bobby’s Latest Hit Go Under the Radar

COOL BOY BOBBY

Cool Boy Bobby is no stranger to mystique. His penchant for keeping details about himself under wraps may seem like a clever ploy to attract intrigue – something the likes of 50 Cent, Tech N9ne, Ghostface Killah, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Young Buck have done at certain points. But excessive attention is precisely the last thing he needs – he’d even double-down on his anonymity, given the way he is.

Reserved, cautious, and always plotting his next move, this up-and-coming hip-hop producer from Nashville, TN recently found himself at the receiving end of growing notoriety. Not that he needed any more of that to get by – he rarely, if at all, does interviews, and opts to let his music do all the talking. There aren’t even any old photos of his face – he’s adopted bandannas and ski masks to hide it.

And yet, amid all this lack of any paper trail, Cool Boy Bobby has made noise across the midsouth urban markets through his recent collab with 2′ Live Bre and Tate Kobang that delivered a smash song called “Bonkers.” The smooth flow of this street jam could aptly drive him bonkers as it might just put major labels on notice. But of course, that simply isn’t the Cool Boy Bobby way.

Quite ironically, the increasing attention enjoyed by this song has made it a most suitable vehicle for Cool Boy Bobby’s You Are Powerful campaign (his Instagram handle @yapcampaign for short). Understanding that greatness can be achieved even under difficult circumstances, he designed the campaign to encourage greater holism in improving one’s agency with sheer talent and confidence.

It looks as if Cool Boy Bobby’s natural ability to establish a steady following would not stop him from shying away from the limelight and the massive spoils it brings. Sharing his raw talent with a larger audience might just be his way of breaking down the walls of the corporate way to fame. And if this beat is anything to go by, that might not be too much of a bonkers idea.
