MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina — (March 21, 2024) —To show their support for reading and libraries, WonderWorks Myrtle Beach has teamed up with the Horry County Memorial Library System to celebrate National Library Week. National Library Week runs from April 7-13, 2024, but WonderWorks is celebrating all month long! Those who visit one of the ten Horry County Memorial Library branches and register for a first-time library card anytime in April 2024 will receive one free All Access ticket to WonderWorks while supplies last.
“The WonderWorks team is full of readers, so we’re thrilled to partner with our local libraries to promote the magic of reading. The more you read, the more you learn!” says Kaitlin Barnes, education sales manager at WonderWorks Myrtle Beach.
After signing up for a card, the library will provide new cardholders with one free admission ticket to use at WonderWorks. To redeem the ticket, guests can show their ticket voucher along with their new library card at the ticket counter upon arrival. All Access tickets provide use of all the hands-on exhibits and activities throughout the facility.
In addition to this ticket deal, WonderWorks Myrtle Beach will also collect new or gently used books throughout the month to donate to the Horry County Memorial Libraries. Guests visiting WonderWorks can bring the books with them, and others in the community who would like to donate can drop them off in the lobby, even if they do not plan to enter the exhibits.
Expanding upon their love for reading, WonderWorks Myrtle Beach honors one of the most popular children’s authors of all time, Dr. Seuss with a one-of-a-kind exhibit. Guests can admire the Dr. Seuss art exhibit and see imaginative taxidermy sculptures of many of the fictional characters found in his books. The sculptures provide an exciting look at the beloved characters and showcase the power of imagination that comes from reading.
“If you plan to visit WonderWorks at any point during the month of April, be sure to bring a book or two to donate to our book drive!” added Robert Stinnett, general manager at WonderWorks Myrtle Beach. “The books collected will be donated to our local libraries at the end of the month. We’ll take children’s books, novels, and everything else!”
According to the American Library Association, National Library Week was established in 1958. This year’s theme is “Ready, Set, Library,” which aims to highlight all the amazing things that libraries provide in an increasingly digital world. There are nearly 140,000 libraries in the country, including public, academic, and school libraries.
Like many libraries, WonderWorks Myrtle Beach is known for the fun and exciting ways that it encourages families to learn and explore. One of their ongoing goals is to help inspire the next generation of leaders, scientists, and creatives. They do that by offering four floors of exhibits and attractions, all rooted in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) principles. The hands-on learning throughout the facility is sure to challenge guests’ minds and spark their imaginations.
Visitors can expect to explore each area of STEAM, including science (test the principles of pressure and experience hurricane-force winds), technology (climb into a replica Mercury Capsule and interact with an augmented reality sandbox), engineering (use pulleys to lift yourself up and align spinning gears), arts (take in mind-bending illusion art and play a song on the Giant Piano), and mathematics (calculate the landing of a space shuttle and complete a complex math problem). Enjoy all this and much more inside this indoor amusement park for the mind.
WonderWorks Myrtle Beach offers over 100 interactive exhibits. They provide an excellent way for guests of all ages to spend the day exploring, learning, and creating memories. There’s something of interest for everyone inside, including an indoor ropes course, a 6D Extreme Motion Theater, a laser tag arena, the Bubble Lab, and much more.
Located at 1313 Celebrity Circle, WonderWorks Myrtle Beach is open daily. There are many options for fun activities, group rates, birthday parties, special events, team-building events, and more. For more information about tickets, visit the site at:
