4. View the Hollywood Sign
The iconic Hollywood sign sits on Mount Lee in Griffith Park. It’s a famous LA landmark seen in movies. I lived in LA for 3 years. People often asked where the sign was. It’s not actually in Hollywood. Originally an ad for housing, it’s now surrounded by fancy homes. The winding streets there are easy to get lost in.
You can see the Hollywood sign from a distance at the back through a security fence. However, you’ll need an excellent camera to capture a decent photo.
Don’t be discouraged! There are strategic points to view and photograph the sign. Consider taking a 4.5km guided trail, which is easy to moderate. It’s worth the effort!
If you don’t want to hike, you can find good photo spots at Lake Hollywood and N. Beachwood Drive, north of Franklin Ave and south of Rosalia Drive.
